We were a little late for the traditional family hike down to the beach and blackberries of Discovery Park this year. The blackberries were a little sparse but the beach provided plenty of entertainment.

While Cara played at Disneyland, mom and dad had a chance to revisit the Enchantments, one of our favorite mountain locations. Teaming up with some friends for a car swap, we were able to complete the full 18-mile traverse. We're looking forward to the time when Cara is strong enough for us backpack there as a family.

Grandpa and Cara both fulfilled a dream with a trip together to Disneyland. Cousin Ashley and friend joined, making for a truly fun time.

The second backpacking trip of the year was to Dorothy Lake. A few bugs, a huge lake and lots of fun. Although watching an evening helicopter rescue while eating dinner was probably the part Cara will remember the best. (A broken leg - luckily nothing too dramatic)
